AOI – AUTOMATIC OPTICAL INSPECTION

Optical inspection of SMD components

The quality of the SMD (Surface Mounting Device) components can be checked through optical inspection of the board.

To speed up the process and reduce the possibility of errors, ME ELECTRONICS’ testing department is equipped with an AOI (Automatic Optical Inspection) machine: an automatic inspection station that analyses every mounted part with reference to more than 2,000 photographs. 

Special software allows comparison between the images of the circuit board and its original design and automatically detects and signals any anomalies.
